Urban Prankster - Ikea Guillotine

Ever been to Ikea on a weekend? Found this on the Urban Prankster blog. Pick up one of these for DIY justice. I just moved and have to make the compulsory Ikea shopping trip.

Cut, file, solder, grind, polish, and set

Sheets and wires of silver formed by hand into a simple cocktail ring. It makes an elegant setting for a rose quartz cabochon.

Je Ne Sais Qoia

THE HULLY GULLY
In english this would just be cute and kitschy. In French it has that certain je ne sais quoi.

Cali...I heart your sun, sand, and waves

Back in NYC after spending a week in California. I participated in Thread in San Diego, my first west coast trade event. I think it was a success. Loads of fun, cool bands, vibe, and made some new friends. I moved my booth for the 2nd day and was near the exit by the beer garden and stage so I had one of the best spots to catch all the bands performing.

Left San Diego with my heart a flutter and a giddy girlhood crush on the sun, surf, and sand. Hope to do another event on the west coast soon.

Thread Show San Diego

Busy prepping extra adornments for Thread in San Diego! Phew, I'm exhausted.
Booked my flight, hotel, and car...yikes! It all adds up so quickly. Keeping my fingers crossed. Hope the show goes well. Wish me luck.

Leandro Erlich: Swimming Pool

Earlier in the week I went to P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center and was fortunate to catch an installation by Argentine artist Leandro Erlich of a swimming pool. One of the coolest installations I've seen in a while.

Glad I had a chance to experience this.

Harmonious Subway Noise

Marques 4 from Bon Duke on Vimeo.

I heard the most beautiful music today from a musician named Marques Tolvier.
Young and extremely talented. I'm keeping an eye turned toward the sky for this future star.

Green Peace & Love for All

I channeled my inner hippie when I made these. The one that enjoys tramping through forests, skinny dipping, and believes in free love.

Neck Art and Spring Scarves

It's spring and the weather is getting warmer. Time to shed the heavy winter wooly knits in exchange for lighter and happier layers. It is not too balmy yet so you still need to layer up for the crisp air. I think one of the best accessories for the season are spring scarves. You can frame yourself with a piece art if it has a decorative print. A simple one can add the finishing touch of flair or color. I love the ones on Colette france website. Gorgeous prints and colors for the season.

Golden Leaves

I've been working on a jewelry line and made these.

It used to be taboo to mix metals but not anymore. I think the different tones of the gold and sterling silver compliment each other beautifully. The charcoal/black tone of the oxidized silver adds depth and dimension.
